  • Do you feel frustrated that you’re not getting any faster?

  • Do you frequently pick up injuries?

  • Do you feel like you’re constantly dragging your legs around a run?

  • Have you heard that you should be doing some strength training but don’t know where to start?

  • Do you hate going to the gym and would prefer to go out running?

Then this workshop is for you!

Join Chris Kitson – Osteopath, Personal Trainer, and Specialist Biomechanics Coach for this 90 minute workshop where he’ll be covering the basics of strength training for running. We’ll discuss what strength training is, what type of strength training will get you the best results, and when to implement it for the best overall effect on your running performance.

This workshop will have a mixture of presentation with some optional practical elements so be prepared to move and try out some new things! You won’t be lifting any heavy weights in the workshop, in fact you may only be using your own body weight for most of it, depending on your level of experience. You may however be exercising muscle groups in a way in which you’re unaccustomed to, so be prepared for the possibility of some general muscle soreness over the following couple of days.

The session will be in the comfort of your own home and everyone will be in the same boat so there’s no need to feel nervous. This workshop is open to all levels of runner, from the total beginner right through to the advanced competitor. All exercises will be adapted to suit you. Are you struggling with current injuries? Not to worry, we’ll be adapting things to suit your needs on the day. You might even find that the strength exercises we do on the day will help improve your injury!

20 JUNE 2020, 12:00-13:30 BST

Whether you’re new to exercise or you’re managing to stay active, we’ll show you how you can create a personalised workout to help improve your movement ability, strength and fitness levels. Yes, all levels welcome!

We'll show you how to vary your movement to build a strong robust body at home or outside in a park. Using just your bodyweight, this is a great way to challenge and enhance your current exercise regime.

We held a free workshop on 9 May 2020, exploring how to vary your Squat, Lunge and Pressing movements, using bodyweight only. Once you have signed up to this workshop, we’ll also send you the videos of the movement patterns covered on the 9 May 2020 if you missed it.

In this workshop we’ll add in some new movement patterns and explore variations as well as look at how to adapt movements to suit you and explore how we can challenge the way you move. Let us show you how Primal Flow can enhance your current training or improve your daily activity!

You’ll also have the chance to submit, prior to the workshop, a couple of questions about movement that we’ll aim to cover on the day.

Kim Tomlin (Advanced Primal Flow and L1 Animal Flow Instructor) will show you how to build your own progressive bodyweight workout to keep your body strong and robust without the need for any equipment.

You can get up and move with us (try things out) or you can just watch and take notes.
